    Hi popey21,

I'm afraid neither are particularly good, but in that price bracket you shouldn't expect too much. In saying that the V-Fit has a better range of motion than the discovery and therefore will be more comfortable and provide a slightly better workout.

The resistance on both mchines is joke, it works on the basis of a tension cable - not magnetic as sometimes advertised.

In a final quick point the frames and consular displays on both models are pretty much useless.

At that price you're getting what you're paying - not much. If you are planning on getting a peice of machinary invest in one that
    1. you won't grow out of,
    2. wont break apart in 12 months
    3. actually can provide you with a workout and
    4. is covered by a decent guarentte, warrenty and repairs policy.

I should point out I work for Star Fitness, a small company that sells fitness equipment. I'd also advise trying them out somewhere before you buy them, it might have everything you want but if it's not comfortable to use, its a waste.

If you want something good look to spend around €600 - €1000.

If you do want one of those though and its suitable for your needs, just make sure you know where you stand in regards to guarentee, warrenty and servicing.

If you need anymore advice shout.

    Boru.
