It's available on a UK sub aswell but understandably, they're not as excited as people here are.

By the way is this one of the new regions that ITV said they were going to add?

I'd also add a caution folks that if its talked about too much here or over on dig spy, it could be blocked with a "08" very quickly.

yep just tried it on the ftv card and it is not available it says to upgrade call sky. very unusual that it is only available on an irish card.anyone know if its availalbe on an uk sub card

I am very curious as what ITV are up to -why are they testing FTA on Tyne Tees? there is very little being said on spy digital (UK). I am sure the media will pick up on at some stage -any other ideas out there??

Can't remember BBC Testing the regions but I do remember when they were testing BBC1NI availability on Irish subscription cards (way back when BBC1NI was on channel 214 - and none of the TV channels were FTA - BBC2NI didn't appear until a month after BBC1NI).

Anyhow, I recall that every second programme was unscrambled for Irish viewers looking at BBC1NI through the Other Channels menu.

:D:D I'm picking it up on the 10165 number. :D I've got sky sub.

Now, the big question is..... Is it ITV1? Is this the channel that will be showing the Chelsea game next week? :(

ITV1 show more Chelsea CL games live than TV3 and I must admit I prefer the commentary on ITV anyway. Fecking Brill!!!!!! :D:D

M&M is getting a facelift by ITV prior to launch on DTT. They are not going to rename it ITV4 yet (if at all).

But is it still FTA ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 484 ✭✭DigiDec

It was never FTA, you needed a ROI subs card to view it, it didn't even work on a UK FTV card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,417 ✭✭✭✭watty

I presume an active ROI sub rather than a cancelled one.

Is a cancelled ROI card good for anything other than renewing an ROI sub?

By my rekoning you get less chhannels on a cancelled ROI card than on Digibox that has never had an Irish card!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 484 ✭✭DigiDec

It would have to be an active card, and yes if you have a digibox that never had any sort of card in it you would receive the UK EPG as default, eg BBC1 London, BBC2 England, BBC3, BBC4 etc.
