Your current bandwidth reading is: 855.70kbps

which means you can download at 106.96 KB/sec. from our servers.

Swords here, upgraded some time during the night.

On home plus and getting 1.77mbps which means I can donload at 220kB/s.

Bit annoying though that you can't get all the 2mb/s.

Still bugger-all happening on the whitehall exchange, despite earlier downtime.
    Bleh. :(

Howdoya mean earlier downtime? My DSL (Digiweb) is still down since Friday afternoon on the Whitehall exchange. Digiweb say there's no problems at their end.

    Hi All,

Naturally I have to look a gift horse in the mouth ..... know what I mean ?

I just assumed that the upload speed would be increased in line with the download speed. Obviously I was wrong ? Will upload speed be increased in the foreseeable future does anyone know?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys - Appreciate that officially the upgrades are advertised from approx April 4th but during checking last night/early hours of this monring with all that was going on I saw some improvments getting a best dowload rate of 119.56 KB/Sec - I would have expected a lot higher considering I'm due to be upgraded to 2MBit (I'm on ESAT/IOLOBB+) -Also this morning my connection is actually worse than it normally is & I'm getting a much lower speed than usual :

    http://www.irishisptest.com/bandtest/results.php?kbps=358.7&downloadtime=13.84&KB=606&recorded=1

Maybe all will be sorted tomorrow - hopefully

ps - Anyone know where the exchange in Celbridge is located ?

    I doubt it.

I just got upgraded, to 1meg though. Anyone else on IOL plus?

They might not be upgrading the people on the trial fully. I have a 16gb cap so I am on plus.

My current speed is 1.86 Mbps according to irishisptest. Is this accurate?

Should be pretty much spot on. Youre not likely to get the full 2mbps with signal loss, interference, redundancy etc. Im gettting 1.8 aswell :D

Now if only it was any extra use to me for bittorrent...

    hmm.

the modem is reporting 2048/128 yet every speed test going still has my speed at 50k/s

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 200 ✭✭diarmo

I have a v.slow comp at the moment so when I test the line using the irishisptest I get about 60k.
But when I download a large file it takes about 20 seconds to get a nice steady 210-215KBytes/s.

Dont worry about the tests so much if you are on a sh!tty comp like myself...just download a 20MB file from a fast server.

Was just about to reply saying my modem went offline and i was upgraded but here's the weird one: check out my modem status and the downstream.

But check out my download speed: http://www.irishisptest.com/bandtest/results.php?kbps=341.9&downloadtime=20.937&KB=873.875&recorded=1

    Also, i'm entitled to 2MB.
