and anything mr steve fanagan puts his hand to is usually worth a listen

'bears' was probably my favourite Irish record of 2004. the new estel is only great as well. a bit samey, but good all the same.

I'm not too gone on Waiting Room. Heard so much about them and then saw them play in the Roisin Dubh and they were very average - not much stage presence, poor vocals. But I haven't heard the album so I don't want to write them off just yet as they could have been having an off night.

Current Irish bands that I like (as if anyone cares what I like)

    Jape
    Redneck Manifesto
    Life After Modelling
    Connect Four Orchestra
    The Chalets
    Goodtime John
    Autamata

and CRAYONSMITH - this guy only has one EP out but he's great. You can hear the Sebadoh/My Bloody Valentine influences a bit much at times but I think he's going to get better and better. Can't wait for his album.
(and no - I'm not him or his brother or anything to do with him - just a fan)

www.crayonsmith.com - check out tracks on his site
