    Hi,
I know there's a post on this site somewhere about Ben Dunne's gym in Terenure but I just can't find it! I can't get a phone number or website details for it because I don't know the exact name of it - can anyone help? Also is it true that there's some special offer on there at the moment about weight-loss and money back? I'm probably going to join anyway but a little incentive would be nice eh?
Finally is anyone else a member - what do you think of it?
    Thanks
    Ailisho

    Hi ailisho

The telephone number is 01 465 4040. I don't think they have a website (madness!!).

I've been a member since it opened and I have to say I'm very happy with the place. It's huge. It's all laid out around a 25m pool - cardio and free weights either side. They have a studio for aerobics / kick-boxing etc that's included in you membership, although I haven't used the studio.

Cardio - Tons of treadmills, rowers, cross trainers & bikes (no steppers). I've only had to queue once for anything and I go three times a week at peak times!!

Resistance machines - a good selection of all the major stuff and lots of it.

Free weights - They seem to have enough of most stuff and heavy weights too but I'm not the person to ask on this as I've only just started with the free weights.

Benches - never had to queue for one.

    Mats - tons of them.

Changing rooms - big and clean with good sized lockers (although the free bag they give you when you join is slightly too bif for the locker grrr)

Showers - Clean, warm, OK pressure - can be a small queue 15 mis before the place shuts.

Pool - 3 lanes set aside for lap swimming and the rest for lesiure. They were doinf aqua aerobics when they opened but there was someting wrong with the floor so they stopped it.

Extras - 2 large jacuzzis looking onto the pool area. 1 large steam room an 1 large sauna (both co-ed). They've recently opened and haridressers, barbers, beauty saloon and sports fitness centre but I haven't used it yet.

Overall I'd say that the gym is excellant. Clean & tidy and the clientele is friendly enough (it's not at all intimidating for a beginner) if a little aloof - it's easy to mind your own business!!

    Hope this helps.

Oh my god that was THE most in depth reply - exactly what i was looking for - thank you! Just one other question - how much was it to join? I live in terenure so i'd probably join it anyway but it's SOO hard to get in touch with them - ridiculous not having a website.
    Again - thank you!

Completely agress about not having a website - its stupid!

It costs €495 for a years membership.

Agree with ALL the comments above - is top class gym!

I meant to say you should drop in - they'll give you a tour and I think they'll let you try the place for free - and don't forget if you lose 6kg and keep it off for 6 months you get your money back - make sure to eat and drink loads before your weigh in - maybe even hide some weights on you person
