mr tombull - do you have the gearbox from the 87 and is it in perfect nick?
My 89 is in a bad way - ive pretty much lost reverse and 2nd to 3rd is horrific.

I have two cars - both Minis, one is an 89 flame and one is a 73 Mini 1000.

    The flame:

Alfasudcrazy, I know it's a lot of money, but would you not have upgraded the alloys?

Guy I work with has a '05 GT on 225/35 18" iirc. Looks fab, hope he never drives on potholed roads though :)

GT is a superb looking car. Only the Italians can pull something like that off, especially in this day and age. Even when the Japs pay the Italians to design their cars, it doesn't seem to work out - probably jet-lag

    Oh, and mine is a late '96 735iA V8

Yep - thought long and hard about 18' wheels but decided 17's were a better compromise given - as you say our roads. Also resale considerations played a part - huge 18' wheels might not appeal to everyone for the same reasons. The ride is also much harsher on 18's and they don't come in the teledial style I like. I have grown weary of spending hours cleaning spoked alloys

The car in the pic is yours, right? The wheels don't look 17", more like 16"

What engine did you go for?

    Wahey for the alfa drivers!

    Love the GT.

    Mine's a '99 156 1.8TS - 92k miles :o

    Alfa1.jpg

Actually on a side note I thought I had my first problem with it yesterday. I cleaned it and suddenly it wasn't starting. Thought the fuel pump had gone. Got a mechanic round who politely pointed out that I had accidentally hit the fuel relay switch with the hoover! Some tool I am.

    1995 Honda Civic Coupé LSI

70k miles on the clock, only 3k of those are mine since I bought it last year.
Since I bought it I swapped out the middle console and put in an armrest and cupholders from the ESI models, and I've just installed a 12 cd changer.

It's the most comfortable car I've ever driven, nippy as hell, and looks great. There's also not too many of the 92-96 models around anymore, unlike the regular Honda Civics, and the boyracers dream, the Honda Integra..

I won't be changing this car for a long time :)
