Was playing on PPP last nite, when one of the Hosts contacted me, and asked if I was hungry. They asked if I would like a pizza, some drink etc.

About 20 minutes later a guy from Four Star Pizza was standing at my door with a nice big Pizza, Garlic Bread, Wedges and a Coke.

    Nice touch.

That's one of the slickest things I've ever heard, all they have to do now is to offer free beer and they're on to a winner :D
I'd also like to see some free e20 bet vouchers and the like as runner up prizes in satellite tournaments. Still, good software and good servers.

Howdy all! Well yes we rather thought it would be amusing to give out free pizza.. so we pick a couple of people per evening and attempt to feed them. It is interesting though.. a lot of customers are VERY suspicious about it.. "what is the catch" "but what do I have to do for it?" Or they simply shut down chat before we have the chance to offer.. so tip of the day.. if you are online at PPP and an unexpected ping appears.. Don't shut it down, we are probably trying to give you stuff! As for the beer.. well I never.. gambling cussin and drinkin' won't somebody PLEASE think of the children!

Mac version of the client requires serious developement. However we have identified the requirement and it is on the devolopement wish list.. Cannot unfortunately give you a time line on it, but rest assured we are working on it and I will keep you posted!

Can you download PPP on a dial up line or do you need Broadband?
I tried to download it on a dial up and it froze after 5 minutes?

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

Shouldnt be a problem to d/l it from the site on dialup.... if it fails for you again, I'd ring the support people.

Slightly OT, Dev is there a full list of events and locations for the coming weekend or is it just the main event taking place?

If there is a full list could you post it in a thread here somewhere, wouldn't mind having a go at some of the smaller events if they're on.

    cheers

Thaks Karl, but where do you see a 100+10 freezeout? I'd love to play a game like that because unless I have a good poker week (and its started out nicely) I just cant afford it. Is this a new addition to the lineup?

    whats "this months bubble"

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

I think the bubble in the Fitz was played last weekend but I could be wrong.

The Fitz festival isnt for another month. Stay tuned.

The "bubble" tournie is for all the players throughout the month who go out on the bubble (ie: one short of the money). They play off in a freeroll for cash prizes (400,300,200,100) once a month.

The fitz take 20eu out of each tournament and put it into a prize fund for those who finish just out of the money (ie 6th if they are paying 5). This place is called the bubble. If you finish in the bubble in two tournaments you get twice as many chips and so on. There is normally about 1K up for graps and not too many turn up for it, so you have a good chance of getting some cash.

    cool idea.

Are people who go out on the bubble in any fitz tourneys allowed to enter? If they bubble in the thursday freeroll etc.. (not that i have done this but just curious)

freerolls don't count. every other tournie does. afaik.

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

noone else is allowed to enter this tournie, the only way to get a seat is to go out on the bubble. The quality of play is excellent as its made up of final tablists. A lot of people dont turn up too, which means its often only a 2 table tournie.

shíte, thought it was a freezeout, sorry to get yiz excited. i'm going to head out there anyway with enough for entry and a rebuy and see how it goes.

also hopping on PPP to try and get a ticket to the big one. no luck so far :(

Would take enough for a rebuy and a top up if I were you, no point being at a financial disadvantage to the deep pocketed pros!

Whats your nickname on VC Karl ? I'll be playing the last qualifier on wednesday.

Your right Tom the bubble was played on Saturday.

On a side note,I played the World Series Grand Final their a while ago and I can 11th  but one thing I noticed was the payout was very very flat.It was one ticket plus whatever change was left over (8/9k i think).

I think it would be a good idea to spred out the cash,I mean to beat 100 odd people and get nothing for third is abit of a bummer.Maybe the final table to all take something...

    What do you lot think...?
