    Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a mistake on the site but you can get the iRiver H340 Full Edition (With cradle and remote etc) for €340 delivered from mx2.co.uk! My brother bought the same one about 3 months ago for €460 or so, this is a great catch if it's not an error!
    Regards,
    Corm

mx2 is the cheapest place to get iRivers, and has been for a good while, good prompt service as well.

Yup I know, I've been keeping an eye on them every so often for the past few months. This seems like a great price for the H340.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,264 ✭✭✭RicardoSmith

Not sure if the remote and cradle are worth the extra. I thin you'd be better with the SE version and buy a H100's series remote instead. What do you think?

Look at the link I posted, the Full edition of the H340 (40GB) is €340 delivered, the Lite edition is €371 delivered!

The full edition is cheaper

That's why I'm saying it may be an error

    But if it's not...

considering the h340 is on special and priced £20 lower than the se that wouldnt make a lick of sense

Anyone actually gotten one of these yet, with this offer?
I've been interested in getting one since it came out.
Was going to get one from the states, but then i head they were nobbled for usb host.

    What are mx2 like?
Do they handle the credit card stuff properly, or ask for photocopies of the card etc.

    How are they for delivery?

Prices seem kinda funky on that site.

The iriver 595t (512mb player, mono display) is £176
The iriver 999 (1gb player, colour display) is £160.

The 999 has longer battery life (at least 25%), a neck band, colour display, ability to store notes, and obviously 512mb more room.

I've had a 595t for a long time now.... time to upgrade, methinks. :)

Can someone explain to me the difference between the :

    Standard model
    Lite Model
    SE model

    :?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,386 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

€340 is a steal, it is still €600 in peats! the 320 is only £199 too

the lite version has no remote or cradle. there are other differences. www.misticriver.net explains it all

Excuse the ignorance. What is the cradle for?
Can this be hooked up to back of car stereo? Nissan Primera Year 2000.
Seems like a great deal. Been waiting to get one of these.

Anyone know where you'd get promotional codes or vouchers for mx2?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,378 ✭✭✭halkar

So much for a bargain. Ordered one on Sunday, got confirmation mail same day. Today sent them mail asking if my order was processed, got a reply saying it was cancelled with no explanation why.
Feck them, me not going near them again :D

I got my 340 from them (at old price) and found the service excellent. 340 is really good, even plays video

Yes it can be hooked up to car stereo using line out assuming you have an AUX in on your stereo. What would be really great would be an interface so your car stereo could show track info etc. Alpine have one for the ipod but I've not seen anything similar for iRiver

Yeah it is good price Tony, but it is not available. They just cancelled the order with no reason. Web site still showing at the price I ordered and no way of knowing if they are in stock. Anyone ordered with that price?

Why not threaten them with sale of goods act,I'm open to correction but i think once a price is advertised the item must be sold at that price.

Called and asked them why, they said the reason was "no longer available" . On their site no way of knowing if they are in stock.

I ordered one for my dad yesterday and got a confirmation email which included the following:
    Dear
    ,

This is confirmation that we have received your order request. We will process your order shortly and if any item is out of stock we will email you and let you know. Thank you for shopping at MX2. Currently please allow 7-10 working days for delivery, as stated in our T&C's located here: http://www.mx2.co.uk/acatalog/info.html.

    We'll wait and see

halkar, maybe it is your credit card? Try again:) They cancelled the first order my bro placed and delivered the 2nd order within 2 days or so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,378 ✭✭✭halkar

Nope, nothing wrong with my credit card, they said H340 is not available. If it was the card, i could have sorted out on the phone with another card but I guess I have to for get about it. Anyone managed to buy for that price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

The guy above said his order went through and they are awaiting stock. My friend also ordered one at that price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,579 ✭✭✭Pet

Argh. I bought my H320 in January for about €340 from amazon..grrr. I feel worse for you though Offler.

Anyone want a 2-month-old fully-working H320 (lite version) - 20% cheaper than what mx2 offer - ie €240? I'll even leave all my music on it!

You going to get the 40 gig instead? What music have you got?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,334 ✭✭✭OfflerCrocGod

The 40Gb player is hefty only get it if you REALLY need 40Gb.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

It's not hefty at all really. It will fit in your pocket, that's really all that matters. And when you have 800 albums in your pocket, maybe a little extra bulge will remind you of how lucky you are to be able to afford such a thing :D

Cormie, my order went through too, I got the same mail on Sunday, found out Tuesday after sending them a mail asking if order was processed.

    That's weird?!

Just had a look at that page and the full H340 for €340 is no longer there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭comet

Must have been a mistake to start with so I'd say. I decided at €340, it was still too bloody expensive anyway, give it 6 months I'm sure it will have a more reasonable price tag.

Not true, an offer of sale is not a contract - had they charged his credit card it would be different.

So what happened with the offer?
    Did anyone find out?
    Was it a mistake?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭comet

Mistake I think, looks like they mixed up the price on the H340 with the H140. - £237.50

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭comet

I would like to get this H340 and I know someone going to New York soon however the U.S. model is missing some of the good features (e.g. USB on the go), anyone know if its possible to buy a Non-U.S. version in New York?

I think you can flash the firmware which gives you the usb on the go but not the video mode. Its all on http://www.misticriver.net/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭comet

I've had a look at that site alright. As far as I can see the video thing is a gimmick and something I wouldn't really use anyway so that wouldn't bother me. USB on the go is a nice feature though, from what I can see flashing the firmware on a U.S. model wouldn't give you USBOTG, you need to actually open it up or add some other cables. Sounds like too much hassle, maybe the ipod would be easier (better stop talking now, this is a bargain thread afterall)
