Question re reflexes

I play a lot of five-a-side football and recently have been wondering if it would be possible to do an exercise or series of exercises which would speed up the eye-foot reflex. What i mean is in those situations were the ball is there to be taken, your brain tells your leg/foot to move to a certain position to intercept it, but by the time this happens the ball is gone. Some people are obviously faster than others with this type of action, and is this something they have from birth, or can it be gained, or at least improved? Would something like skipping have an effect?

Skipping would have an effect, but only with a speed rope. Siberian ginseng also improves reflexes. Largely it is genetic. I was told that shorter people have faster reflexes because the nerve pathways are shorter. Sounds a little implausible maybe. The most agile soccer players do tend to be below average height, but that is mosre likely to be to do with balance than reflexes I think.
If you are at all tall you would be better off ordering a 10 foot speed rope form the net than buyiong a 9 foot one in a shop. You are suppose dto be able to tiouch your armpits with the tips of the handfles while standing on the rope for the optimal length. They just don't sell 10 foot ones in Dublin it seems, even though a nine foot one isn;t long enough for a large proportion of people. The plasticky ones they sell in arnotts do stretch quite a bit though.
Caffeine improves reflexhe short term also.
Siberian ginseng quality varies massively with the brand in my experience. Lifeforce is crap. FSC is reasonable. There are better types I know, but I don't know the brands. FSC is decent enough though.
