Just went for a run. After a few miinutes I got increasingly bad pain in base of my spine and outsides of my hips unitl I stopped. It went away. I started again. It came back.
I'm assuming it's because my muscles are tired from doing weights and need resting just, but I remember someone describing roughly the same thing on this forum a little while ago, and I don;t think they had mentioned any weight training. Unfortunately, the search utility isn't working for me.
Anybody know what it is? I didn't warm up at all before starting so maybe just doing that might prevent it. I did notice it earlier today to a lesser extent while uising a jump rope.
It's been many months since I did any running, but I wasn't experiencing this the last time I did.

Before you run (esp. on the street or asphalt) do stretches. With any pain, take a rest for 2-3 days. The pain is prob from pressure on hips and road running.

Especially important to do a good stretch and cool down after running on road.

You might also want to look into what you're wearing on your feet if you're running on hard surfaces like road. The pain could be caused by stress on the joints due to undesirable running surfaces or over use. As has been said, with any pain you should take a day or two off otherwise you could do serious damage. Also try to run on softer surfaces such as grass or dirt and try taking supplements such as glucosamine or MSM to keep your joints healthy and happy.

Are you currently supplementing with creatine or similar? Do you suffer from water retention?

    .logic.

I am using creatine at the moment. I've noticed that when I use it my weight increases by several pounds very quickly, and decreases by several poiunds when I stop using it, which I guess indicates fluid retention.

The pain was muscular, not in my joints. I've fecked up my joints quite nicely before and I know that's not what I did this time. It felt like muscle cramps, which would make sense since I didn;t warm up properly in cold weather and my muscles were probably a bit fatigued already.
