Working out while travelling?

What do you do to workout while on a business trip? Alot of hotels will have cardio equipment, but weights machines are usually pretty bad or non-existant.

There is a certain amount you can do in your room (press ups, dips, situps etc.), but I just want to hear some other suggestions. What about portable gym equipment (like resistance bands)?

    Any recommendations?

What i find works best for me is getting outside for a run and tis will cover the aerobic part of the program.

I do ashtanga yoga regularly so i bring my mat with me - if you have ever done this type of yoga you would know how intense this can be.

Finally, look at www.proactive-health.co.uk for portable gym equipment like resistance bands - they are soooo versatile and take up no more room than a pair of socks (just make sure that you get one of the really strong ones - grey is best!).

Also use benches outside or inside for step-ups, push-ups and dips

Thanks, Transform.. thats just what I needed to know.

What kind of resistance do those black bands on proactive-health offer?

Not sure how much lbs in weight it represents so buy two of different strengths as they are sooo cheap anyway. Also remember to pick up some of the classes in the gyms as they can be great to grab new ideas.
