Don't answer that question, but realise, you were only cheating yourself.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

Why the hell would you cheat in an exam? What are you going to do in the jc when there is no way of cheating? You'll also look like a fool if your grade goes down bigtime from the mocks to the JC.

There are actually quite smart ways of cheating in the real thing, but posting them here would be stupid.

Cheating your way through life is pointless, to me actual knowledge matters a great deal more than what your exam results say your knowledge level is.

As for mocks, I've almost finished mine, last 2 tommorrow (history and maths). So far I've been quite disapointed not just with the difficulty of the exams but also the sheer number of people blatently cheating in my class - I don't usually mind but the mocks decide what class we get into next year, I don't want to be in a non-top class when some dude who cheated his way through is being taught by a great teacher.

    Fobia.

I've thaught of quite a few (not that I was trying to think of some or anything) but I'm not gonna cheat in the JC..

    lmao.
perhaps... perhaps, if you agreed with that statement more than me, you'd cheat all the time.
EOS! (there's no way in hell I'm gonna try and explain that ^^^).

I don't think they do in other schools so unless you're from Galway and go to my school I doubt you're in trouble :)

I'm not too worried about the grades for the subject choices but the subject choices can be affected to in my school - if you don't do great in maths you shouldn't do applied maths for lc etc, that's what I'm worrying about as there's only one set of subject choices I can perform with (chemistry, physics, applied maths) so if I don't get them I'll have to pay an awful lot of money to do them outside of school :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Damn you and your school doing applied maths... I really really want to do it, but my school sucks too much. I might just end up doing it outside school...

Anyway, I apparently started getting my mock results back on tuesday but since I was out tuesday and wednesday, I conveniently missed them...
    Got some today...
    So far,
    Irish 85%
    English 88%
    French 81%

Pretty happy about english. They seemed to love my essay, which was great. Kinda disappointed about the whole french thing, since french is so crazily easy.

It seems to be an incredibly unfair (well obviously not for me, but other people) turn of chance that I manage to do well in tests with minimal amounts of studying. For the mocks I basically studied crazily (well actually on the last ones I just got so tired of studying I stopped) the day before and hoped for the best. Normally I rarely study, if ever...

    lmao.

I'm pretty good at study too... I can look at somethin before an exam and I'll know it for a while.. But then I just forget it after the exam.
I could've squashed alot more study into the 2 weeks of mocks and done alot better, I think...

what is the point in even learning it just to forget it after an exam the point of learning is so that you retain the information for a later time. Its just stupid forgetting as the Leaving Cert course will build on what you have learned during the Junior Cert you are only fooling yourself if you are not working properly. and i think we were complementing PurpleFistMixer for her good work in the mocks not about yours ;)

People seem to think I'm a guy quite a lot...
Jakkass, I don't actually study that much, tbh. I'm incredibly easily distracted, and I listen to music quite often when I do my homework/study. It's a weird freak of chance that I remember anything at all...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,479 ✭✭✭✭philologos

nice brain then :D but is there any subject your bad at. I kno there is always some subjects where people are naturally able to retain information (depends on the subject and how interested u are etc) like for example I seem to hold history and geography well while some other people hold science in etc so what are you bad at lol if you can find anything you dont get a B for or even a miss of an A since you are so intelligent

    Got my results back today.

English 82% I would have liked to do a little better because English is one of my best subjects, but, meh... [my story was horribly corny so i'm suprised i got 63 out of 70 for that!]

maths 79% I'd like to get an A in the actual JC

Geography 76% so happy! I hate geography and I only studied for like 2 hours the night before! Yay! :D

History 88% The lowest I've ever gotten in history, but still an A So i'm happy. :)

Science 90% HAPPY! I like science so I'm glad I did well. :D

Business 72% In shock. I was so certain all my accounting questions went wrong, and nothing balanced...I can't believe I did so well! :D

CSPE 95% I got 3 questions wrong in section 1 and that was my only mistake so I am aiming for 100% in the JC. CSPE is too easy!

    Irish 75% :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Need I say more?

I'm still waiting on French, but I know I didn't get an A because the highest in the class was 76%. I'm kind of annoyed about that because French is insanely easy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,479 ✭✭✭✭philologos

did u get the wordsearch in CSPE

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 315 ✭✭Mysteryfish

Thanks. :-) Emm, I didn't really study for the mocks, but I will be for the Junior Cert. like crazy. The only ones I put a bit of extra effort in for were history and science, i read through my notes once or twice. And irish-I'm not good at irish, but my dad would kill me if i didn't do well, so i made sure i learnt off a pile of stuff for that.

I think that PurpleFistMixer, Mysteryfish and probably Flashling all go to the same school, a super-school if you will :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Heh. My school is... not super. A couple girls who shall remain nameless managed to fail ordinary level english and geography...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,958 ✭✭✭Fobia

Aye but they were probably "hard girls" or "byores", no?
