God what a sad lot I read about in the personal issues. Topics ranging from "I am feeling crap and dont know why" to "help I am depressed, my girlfriend has dumped me" . To be honest I dont have a shred of sympathy for these people. Whats stopping you putting a smile on your face and having a good time, seek help for **** sakes.

The personal issues section is for discussing personal issues and not why i hate depressed people.

If you cared to see past your ignorance and arrogance for one moment you'd realise that they are (trying to) seek help by posting/mailing.

Everyone hits rough patches from time to time in their life. Some people even suffer from clinical depression you might be amazed to hear.

Is it that hard to have a bit of empathy for people?

I just find they hold people back. My friend is with his girlfirend who has depression, he has said he would rather do other things. I told him, feck her, get rid of her and enjoy life. No I have very little empathy...

Since you have no sympathy for those people, you probably never experienced extreme sadness or stress, and therefore probably have a very bland life.

I amnt trying to be funny Shelley. I dont have the perfect life, if I did it would be very boring but do you not get sick of people going on about how bad life is? I mean look at the amount of posts people give the good things that happen to them, there is far more posts by some gob****e worrying about weather he is going to wear the face of some woman and its getting him down. I am not intending to be funny, but have had it up to my neck with fukwits posting about how bad life is.

Dendenz, you say that you know you will have rough patches in life but you always know you will get through them. Fine, but everyone is not the same - People's brains work in very different ways based upon their genetic make-up and previous life experiences. Some people cannot cope with set-backs in life. However, they do not need to be critiscised by your ignorance of depression and the arrogance you seem to have.

I would not wish depression upon you for it is the worst thing I feel a person could go through.

I am not saying I am anyone special, far from it. But people seem to forget there is good times ahead.

As I say its not an arrogance and I apologises if it comes across that way but its a confidence in myself and life knowing there is good times ahead, I mean ****, I am not a psychic, I know there is bad times ahead but people have to put their head down and get on with things.

I lost a grandparent when I was 12 so yes I know what grief is like but I went on to know things were better.

Couple of things, dendenz.

I don't think anyone how comes on here to talk about their depression and seek advise from other posters is actually looking for your sympathy, so I don't think too many of them are going to be crushed by your revelation that you have no sympathy.

Secondly, what exactly is you issue here? Okay, you have said that you have no sympathy for depressed people. Thats a statement. You are bitching about Personal Issues. You don't actually appear to have one. Why start a completely pointless thread when you could have just posted your opinion in an existing thread about depression? Seeking attention, perhaps?

Lastly, its pretty crass to talk about Personal Issues and make fun of people who have depression. You clearly have no understanding of depression and what it can do to people. You say you have confidence in yourself - well then, you are lucky. Vast amounts of people don't. Having confidence in yourself doesn't give you free reign to post on here spouting crap and belittling other peoples problems.

If you seriously have had it up to the neck with "fukwits" posting about how terrible their lives are, why bother reading the threads? Why bother complaining about them? Why bother frequenting Personal Issues at all?

Embee, my point is it annoys me to see people who are depressed who dont seem to enjoy life and cant seem to get over it.

Why read their posts? To try and understand their point of view, I am not having much luck but I would like to be able to understand in part what they are going through so I can either learn my opinion is wrong or reinforce it.
