I've noticed how some pundits are talking up Scotlands chances today, I dont think they'll previal but but again its going to be close I belive. Italy to scare Wales but not win.

fairly bold daveirl. its hard to predict how the game will pan out today i think. if horgan can get go forward ball at 13, i think he will be very effective. obviously no o'driscoll, but i think he can cause problems. lets just win our set pieces and we will win the game. it will be close enough i think though

Italy 8 - Wales 38 with 5 mins to play....

That's a shame Italy got blown out of it...had a good first half.
Wales have been excellent...Cardiff is starting to look more and more daunting by the minute!!

Oh dear, when the Italians learn to pass and catch they'll be dangerous!

    Mike.

Great Welsh try on 56min, they played alright but we will see what they are made of next week against France!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,193 ✭✭✭[Jackass]

If this years 6N comes down to points difference, we've already lost! Not that unlikely either that it could! Damn you Italy, why didn't you play like you did against us!!?
I suppose that's how you can do with a decent back row

    *cough*

Well the scoreline was maybe a bit generous but in the end Ireland looked comfortable.

    Well done Ireland...

They made it hard on themselves at times and they will have to up the performance another level if they are to live up to pre-6Nations hype!!

Having said that o'connel should have got man of the match IMO, lead by example through the match. great pack performance.
O'Connor proved his doubters wrong, forcing alot of turnovers, He will definetly start the next day.

Delighted for Gavin Duffy getting his first Try.

Dav think your being too harsh on ROG & JOC.
JOC had a great game tackled the sh!te out of everything - ROG looked in great form except for that kick in front of the posts. Concerned at Bryne and Easterby not really making an impression at all. Stringer had a better game although he is dive passing now(must be an injury) and he made some good moves and some terrible.POC was immense today should have been Man of the Match but MOK was good too.

    ROG,MOK,POC,Hayes,D'arcy,BOD and Murphy for Lions
    Outsiders - Stringer,Foley,Hickie

I would love to see Hickie picked for the lions, he was robbed for the last tour, he should have been picked in the first place, Howe was a jammy fecker to get brought in!!

I think if O' Connor plays like he did today for the rest of the 6Nations he will definetly be in with a shout..

great win after a bad start. We were all over them like a bad rash in the end. We didnt need B.o.D and Darcy after all. Hopefully they will be well rested for Ingerland.

Again delighted with the result. Yet again we've played so-so, missing important players, against good opposition who are fired up for the occasion, and beat them soundly. Mark of a good side, regardless of what else you think.

if ireland play to there full capasity, i serriously cant see any team beating them. serriously

Have to agree 100% if Ireland can put near 30pts on a side without the centre pairing and not play well for the whole 80mins,then we are looking good.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭thejollyrodger

Agreed, when you see a team (like us yesterday) not playing at their full potenital and with less possession without the center pairings of B.o.D and d'arcy winning easily then the signs are all very good.

Hopefully we will have everyone fit for the other 3 matches :):)

Its impressive when they can go to Scotland, beat them by that margin and you think to yourself they can do a lot better. Its a good job the two centers werent playing for Scotlands pride. :D

On the Irish team, O Gara didnt play well, not as bad as last week, but not up to his high standard. I would like to see humps get a run out. Byrne missed the tackle on the blind side for the try but EOS isnt going to bring in Frankie. The first line-out Frankie threw when he came on we lost it.

After all who else can hide the ball under their mullet at the back of the maul?
Frankie wouldnt be the same. :D

i think he did very well, missed one sitter of a kick but tackled better than Jason White and passed better than Cusiter, he was two players in one!
