What is the difference between DVD-r and DVD+R ? Checked them out and the + are much higher in price??

What is the best to buy and where ? Checked out some PC store on Claredon street off Grafton Street and about €14 for 10 dvd-r anywhere better ? Have not tried Peats

DVD-R is compatible with about 92% of Home DVD Systems.
DVD+R is compatible with about 80% of Home DVD Systems.

Beyond that, there's no much difference once your recorder and player do both :)

DVD+R and DVD-R are both pretty much identical in compatibility. Any player bought in the last 3 years should really be able to play both. And most players that play DVD-R but not DVD+R can be made play DVD+R quite easily, by using "bitsetting" on the +R discs (which has NO bad side effects).

Really the deciding factor is the quality of the discs, and the best place to find that out is from the cdfreaks.com forums.
