Think this is the best place for this. I need a way of dropping a 6v battery output (4xAA) to 5v. Anyone got any ideas? A simple enough circuit should do it but I'm not sure where to start. Edit: Actually the Engineering forum would be a much better place for this. Could a mod move it for me please? My bad.

a voltage regulator would do it. any voltage input gives 5V out (or whatever value the particular regulator is designed to give). its a tiny pcb component
