Hi,

Recently I've become a member of Total Fitness Gym Sandyford. I was just wondering if anyone else here is a member? What you think of it? Personally I'm very pleased with it, like I have been up there a few times even before I was a member, and I just thought it basically had everything to offer.

What did you think of the gym?

My only dislike of the gym were the changing rooms, alot of nudity, open nudity! like just put it away, there's absolutly no need for it! I know you probably get that in every male changing room(except shops), but if you pay for a membership, you'd like some privacy and to be spared the vial site of the male genitialia; that is, for us men!

I think it's great, has everything you need practically. From a indoor 200m running track to indoor squash courts. The selection of cardio machines is more than enough. It's also very new, so it's quiet up to date.

I like to think I could go up about 2-3 times a week. As I'm in school, it's a little harder to go up very often.

The staff are sound, like there's one guy who's a bit of a sap who thinks he's great. There's one girl at the counter who's qual. so like thats nice to see Ah, yeah but there real sound, easy to approach.

I am gettin my programme on friday. When you become a member, they do like a little health check. Like, test your heart rate, ask you a bunch of questions. Then they'll book you in for a day to come up and get your programme, it'll usually be within a week of when you ask for the programme.

I personnaly want to use the gym to become more fit, so that would be the cardio section, which I find to be very well equiped. I also wanna build myself up a bit. They have a great free-weights section, and loads of press machines!

It's 302 euro for U18 and for adult it's something like 700, about that price. If you think you'd pass for 17 then say it, they dont ask you for an I.D. to prove your age. Just like if your U18 then they ask for parent/gaurdian concent

Awesome man. Thanks. That is well helpfull. I say I could pass for u17 but then again maybe not...I look about 18 even though I am 20...hmmm. I will see if they have a price for students. I would love to join it. Gonna check it out...thanks man.

Are you serious about the nudity issue?

If you are then give it a few small weeks and you will feel much more relaxed as its quite normal in the gyms and most sports from my own small experience. Keep up the short workouts and its a little price to pay for better health.

Trust me Shrimp you are lucky that you're a guy cos really theres only 1 "danger zone" on display in your changing room - the ladies is a different ball game all together! And there's usually kids in the ladies ones too gawping at you or crying!

Definitely. I find the big beer bellies wearing Y-fronts that are too small for them far more disturbing.

No seamus - I don't have a prob with them seeing MY boobs but there's old ladies in the changing rooms sometimes - i think you can imagine the rest!! :eek:

Well you did kind of ASK!! The funny thing is that in my gym (westwood) they have a sign up sayin camera phones are banned in the changing rooms!!!
