UCD: is a college which uses d4 as its address even though its probably the smallest area code of the campus.

Dammit, I was gonna say that...

But I'll settle for: UCD is - A vortex that sucks any of the joy I hold dear in my life out of my soul, and replaces it with leaden depression...

Damn, I back on monday...

    Can't be that bad surely!?

nah Chick, its not that bad. the first few weeks can be really tough when you dont know anyone but once you put yourself out there it can be great.

    however, for me UCD is:

    a 9am lecture hell!!!

this semester i have FOUR 9am starts which involves getting a train at 7:15am.....ah the joys of living at home.

roll on monday....9am Vikings lecture....Woohoo!!

    I have NO 9am lectures this semester! w00t! Earliest start 11am :)

    mutter...slacker science students...mutter
I know a few TP types, and they take great pleasure in detailing to me just how few lectures they have every week - something ridiculous like 8 hours :( On the other hand they have to actually understand quantum physics :D
full of oompa loompas (d4 girls who wear nothing other than greasy orangey even more orangey and even really orangey fake tan)

The correct term is bop (blond-orange-pink) :D That said I am blonde and wear a good bit of pink, but I have no orange face - I'm as pale as pale can be :)

    Oh yeah, UCD is...fun!!! :p

Ouch.....at least we're only here for a few years....but still id say it'd be an ok place to work, well bar the parking...however i'd love that job that i've seen this lady doing, she just rides around on this lbig kinda quad thing towing a trailer after her the odd time...that looks like fun...and probably the nearest thing to driving a tractor in Dublin...I aim high in my life ambitions...

UCD is: too far from home, boo hiss grr, too expensive for lunch bar the bar (however...), too cheap for alcohol, hick, a mass of grey globuals swarmed by "bops" (why thank you blondie83..thats my nu favourite term), and reopening for its evilness of 7am bus journeys on monday....

Who is Pat and why is he relevant to UCD?

He's that guy who's presence is only known about from the ancient runes carved on the walls of public toilets everywhere in UCD (and in other places if the legend is to be believed). According to different reports, he is well endowned, poorly endowned, a god, an eejit etc. He's sorta like Sauron, we never get to actually see him, but we know he's there and can feel his presence *shudders*

As for his relevance, he has none, aside from showing for all you psychology students out there that people who are bored and have nothing else to do in a public toilet are eager to have a hero, something to give meaning to their lives.

UCD remindes me of that time I went to Munich, Germany. Grey builings tower far and wide, watching over people as a time-warped sociecty of youth go around on the roller-skates with flurecent pink/yellow tracksuits, with something like a flamingo on their tshirt... UCD is in it's own era... It screams out... the 90's!...

Pat is the embodiment of UCD.He's here to help us students just like Captain Planet except without all that nature crap.

the old guy in the library is Pat... Technically I shouldn't even be telling you this, his existence is known by the select few who study in there. Plus I think I signed an NDA a while ago :D

    Ha, Ha.

You must be mixing up your German cities, traditional Munich is mostly redbrick and the buildings that, in Ireland would be grey are, in Munich, painted to look much fancier than they are (ie fake bricks and shadows painted onto the facade).

no no no.. I went to munich, and at the central train station, all you could see around was, grey.. monoscaled scenery, and dodgy turks standing around outside bogey strip clubs.. i hated every second of it there..

No youre wrong. Yesterday in one of the toilets in the Arts buliding someone came up with a great theory about Pat Paterson. This individual noted that you never see Pat and Wayne Rooney in the same place at the same time.

Think about it, Wayne Rooney is Pat Paterson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 825 ✭✭✭MatthewVII

Using the same reasoning, we could argue that Lenin faked his own death and embodied himself instead as Pat Paterson. At least that would explain the lovely utilitarian architecture that UCD boasts.

    /me checks photos.

Yep, train station was grey and boring.

The rest of the city wasn't.
As for strip clubs and "dodgy turks" as you put it, Munich is in Catholic Germany. They don't regard themselves as being the same as other Germans (nor other Germans they). I would recommend Munich as a holiday destination both aesthetically and culturally.
