How does one dial direct to someone's voicemail in the UK? Like in Ireland, you just need to put 5 before the number - 087 5 xxxxxxx Is there something similar for UK numbers?

AFAIK in the UK they dont have a similar setup. The number of the voicemail box is some other number which is not related to the persons mobile number ... so the only way to get thru to someones voicemail without asking them for their voicemail box number is to get diverted.
