I'm looking for a pair of knee-high heeled leather lace up boots for myself, something like this:

    pierresilber_1826_2209728

.....only problem is, I'm a size eight, sometimes nine, and 'cause I do karate I've got large calf muscles. Hence I really don't want to order online, as more likely than not they'll turn up and not fit. Don't mind to much about cost as this are purely a vanity thing :) Anyone have any ideas of anywhere in Dublin or the north west I'd find a pair? Ta!

Those boots a amazing, kind of match your av, have you tried Thomas St? They sell most styles/sizes really cheap. I'd love high boots like them, but I'm too tall so I don't really look out for them.

Yeah, I'm only five' five so I'd get away with them. Haven't tried thomas street no, what shops?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

Don't actually know the names of the shops there, I tend to run in and out of shops really quickly, but the shoe shops are easy to spot.

Cool, I'll give it a try. Just found these searching online:

No way would I have the guts but damn they're cool :D

    I'd wear them if I wasnt 5"11.

I'd wear them they're so hot, but knowing my luck they're probably mad money. You'd probably get the kinda thing you're looking for in Korkey's but sometimes they're sizes are kinda small. I sympathise with you as I have a high instep and broad feet which means shoe shopping is absolute hell. To add to the difficulties I also have exceptionall skinny ankles so if I find something that fits one part of my abnormally weird feet you can bet it won't fit any other part right. Good luck finding the boots.

friend of mine got a pair similar to that in brown thomas a while back so that might be worth a try if cost isn't an issue.
also, if they are lace up surely having large calves shouldn't matter too much because you can just loosen the laces?

Mewzel, you'd be surprised. I also have large calf muscles from exercise and most boots (99%) do not fit, even lace-up ones, which you think would have a lot of give in them

I'll keep an eye out, I think I'm about to have a total disaster with my hair dye (it's neon blue) I'm kind of scared about how it'll turn out.

there are some really cool lace-up boots in dunnes, but the laces are at the back, not the front. theyre lovely though (imho:)). they were 60quid before christmas.

Thanks Sera and Tusky :D I actually looked a bit more thoroughly in sligo today but although there were a few pair they were all ankle :( damn silly shoe shops. I did find a pair of turquoise blue docs for forty quid though O_o so getting them, even if it does break a tradition of wearing anything but docs :D

Heh, my school deals with mine fine, although mainly because there's no rule against it and I'd crucify them if they tried to get me to change it, and they know it :) are you in one of them scary dublin schools with regulations re hair length and skirt length and stuff?

How old are you out of interest ? Younger girls rarely seem to wear those lacey up boots for some reason. Its usually people in their 30s for some strange reason...or am I completely wrong.

    16. That shouldn't effect my fashion sense though.....

If you think looking like a cheap whore or a spooky kid is a 'hot' look.

those boots do NOT look like whore boots, and edibility, I got the impression you were much older, dunno why.

Thanks :) very nice of you there. I want them to wear with knee length skirts, tbh, and I very much doubt "cheap whores" would ever cover that much leg. And looking like a "spooky kid" wearing them would require either heavy goth makeup, or a lot of leather, lace and purple, which, although I'm not into it (or at least not on an everyday basis) is not always bad. Anything can look good (in general, anyway) if you do with some style. Tbh, considering this is the fashion forum where everyone has there own opinions and style, insulting someone over a pair of shoes is just stupid, wouldn't you think?

Rozabeez: thanks :) think thats a good thing.

Woops, accidently doubled posted there, apologies, my bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,846 ✭✭✭✭eth0_

I wasn't trying to insult you, I just think the knee high boots that have been posted are really slutty looking. Just my 0.02c!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

heh yeah some are very slutty looking, that's why we call them hooker boots, but the ones on here are not hooker boots.

    Maybe I like whores and spooky kids ? ( I dont )

I think they look quite classy, but I guess it depends what else is worn with it.

how can fake leather look classy

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

Well seeing as real leather is disgusting animal skin, I'd have to go with fake.

To be honest I didnt even notice it was fake leather, I just have a thing for boots.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

What's the point in having "real leather" when it pretty much just makes you seem shallow if you point it out to people?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 602 ✭✭✭edibility

ok, eth0_, tbh, the boots I posted were a guideline. Fake leather or real, tbh, I don't really mind as long as its not overly synthetic. For gods sake, personal taste and so on, get off your high horse. If I want to look like a whore thats my business, and the point of this thread is where to get the boots, not whether they're "classy" or "whorish". On that subject......frickin docs i mentioned yesterday were gone when I went back today :(

Oooh, I can see myself in a pair of these.

They are sooooooooooooo nice. And they're good value too. You've got to love it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 602 ✭✭✭edibility

They're not expensive but not exactly good value either.....that's sterling like.

    Quite like:

    FW144.jpg

    Or

    FW176.jpg

    but particularly these:

    FW6.jpg

not too keen on the patent leatherness of the second too though.....but I'd probably still wear them :) sexiness. mmm.

Edit: oooh. You can get them in standard leather too. I'm really tempted to shag not knowing whether they'll fit and order the last pair....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 169 ✭✭Gossip_girl

I'd go for it if I was you. I guess they're not great value but in all fairness can you really put a price on that high you get from buying something you know you look totally hot and sexy in? I know I can't.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 602 ✭✭✭edibility

I bought my first skirt in two years a week ago :) and I own about three pairs of high heels, none boots, two pairs which are years old. So tbh I'd be more terrified wearing the first few times :D but yeah, I know what you mean.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,846 ✭✭✭✭eth0_

Get the middle pair, they're really nice

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 169 ✭✭Gossip_girl

Well good luck to ya know matter if you by them or not. Personally I think they're all hot but if it we're me and the second ones came in normall leather, it would be them all the way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

They are really nice, I love leather boots.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 602 ✭✭✭edibility

Y'know what really sucks?? I want the middle pair now but the highest thigh size is way too small :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 729 ✭✭✭crazy angel

i think the first pair rox! nice taste, edibility!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste
