That looks like a very good site and has some great repair tips/guides. Thanks.

this would be cool... especially building the actually body, ie, cutting the wood, shaping it.. i would love to do it, but i also a)don't have the tools, B) don't have the sufficiant space to do so:(

Maybe in the summer i would do it in the back garden...

How would one even start on the neck:eek:

    Would be great!!

You're proably better off buying a body and neck off Warmoth and doing the rest yourself from there. If you haven't done anything like this before you're really going to be pissing your money away and have nought but firewood to show for it. No disrespect intended, but there's an awful lot of skill and knowledge which goes into guitar building and if you haven't dressed frets before, for example, or installed a truss rod, you're only going to make ****e of it. Get some Warmoth stuff and perhaps buy a cheap POS guitar to hone your skills on first before you try to build the whole thing yourself. I've refretted instruments and done all sorts of eletrical work over the last 15 years but I wouldn't be able to make a decent guitar still. Plus, you'd need several hundred euros worth of tools before you'd even start. I'd say let Warmoth do the hard and awkward stuff (neck, frets, neck pocket, pickup routes etc) and build the rest yourself. When you know what's involved then go for a full home made jobbie. Might save you a lot of time, heartbeak and €€€ in the long run.

yeah i probably kidding myself when i say do it ALL yourselve, but you could at least practice, get a good workworker to at least cut the shape of the thing, then you could try your hand at shaping the basic body, like the arm rests etc.. it's good practise, you can also practice routing for the pickups.. it's all part of the learning curve:) i wouldn't do it to make my ideal guitar, i'd do it to see if i could, and probably have a lot of fun doing it,, i've always been interested in woodwork, even though i've never done it..

While we're on the subject... Does anyone know anything about chrome plating? Because I really want to chrome-plate one of my guitar's body.

Good timing, Fey had this up last week. Not sure if it's really something you'd ba able to do at home, might be a little pricey. It appears anything can be chromed, so show some restraint :D
