hehe yeah i've got it also, i'm looking for the more hard to get stuff... for example, full versions of the clips in "Pastachio Medley" on the Zero EP (i've got quite a few of them already)

There's a very famous archive, the NSPAA (New smashing pumpkins audio archive), it holds almost every concert they've ever done, and all their demos... It's not up very often, but when it is.. You're just blown away by it's enormity.

    I've got:

The Tristessa Sub Pop 12" vinyl with Tristessa, La Dolly Vita and Honeyspider on it. 1990

Peel Session's 12" vinyl which has 3 songs: Girl Named Sandoz, Siva, and Smiley on it. 1991

And finally the I Am One 10" vinyl with I Am One, Terrapin, and Bullet Train To Osaka on it. 1992

These are all rocking songs that they recorded before they turned into a little whiny bítch goth band...

If you wanna buy them, make me an offer.

damn! they're all on vinyl... a nuisance to record to mp3 / cd wink.gif I have 2 out of those 3 anyways..

Also, take that comment back.. In my opinion they only really turned all gothy around Adore / Machina... Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie are 2 amazing albums.

    pity.

He wore a black leather dress on stage and at photo shoots. Did he wear it when he went to buy a bottle of milk in his local shop? No.

He's not Goth. And the Pumpkins were never Goth.

(No offense to any Goths who might be reading, but I'm sure you agree.)

How do you know? The fact is that you don't for certain, and therefore you don't have a point or arguement (well, this point of arguement isn't valid.)

And also, for the record, i'm saying is that they changed their image to a gothy one; the music didn't become gothy.

Oh yeah, as for Billy Corgan dressing goth, I saw him walking along the street in Washington DC one time, in tight full black leathers, looking super goth...

His big freakin' bald head gave him away though... Anyone remember when he used to ponce about with long curly hair in paisley shirts? Ahhh, the early 90s...

Siamese Dream is their best - no doubt.

Machina 2 wasn't too bad - it was more a collage of the history and styles of the Pumpkins than anything else.

    All the best!

Either Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie. Tough to choose , for me, it depends on my mood.. Hummer's one great song though.

Just a touring guitarist with New Order.
Think he guests on one song from their new album too.

Basically he's whoring himself around these days.

Did anyone see the Pumpkins when they played the SFX back in the summer of '95?
They were supported by Ash one night and Whipping Boy the other.

Wish I coulda gone but I had no money and my parents wouldn't give me any. Damn, damn, damn. Would've been great to see them in such a small venue.

**** sympathy! I don't need your ****in' sympathy, man, I need my ****ing johnson!

Billy Corgan is touring with New Order.
James Iha is going solo. His solo album is very very good.
Darcy is trying to become an actor(i am serious)
and poor old Jimmy is probably selling drugs to the people that toured with them smile.gif

Well, I remember talking to a friend a while after the band split up, he told me about the whole darcy becoming an actress thing, but she was found with a load of cocain in her boot when she was pulled over, so that's the end of that career. That was actually just after she left the band, before machina.

Poor Jimmy.. one of the best drummers i've ever heard, if not *the* best.. what a waste. frown.gif

Amazing! i thought i was the only one who liked the pumpkins smile.gif
got the best bootleg video in dublin recently, contains a '94 Germany gig, a Dave Fanning interview and profile and an MTV live concert.

    Can any one tell me:
-about the Zero EP and if it's any good?
-about the Aeroplane Flies High box set, where to get it, and if its any good?

    Durty auld MORRIS drums...

i give it 4 gold stars!
the aeroplane flies high, well i havent seen it around in a while,it was a limited edition but i did get the aeroplane flies lower boxset which isnt have as snazzy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭PiE

the Zero EP is great, especially "God", "Mouths of Babes" and "Pastachio Medley" ("Do the rubber man..."). Well worth the £10 i paid for it. :]

The only place I ever saw TAFH boxset in Dublin was in Tower Records, but that was about 2 years ago. :[

Zero EP is bloody brilliant, the only song on it (out of 7, one of which, my favourite, is around 20 minutes long) I don't like is "god", but it's still bearable. TAFH is alright... The tonight tonight single didn't strike me as being brilliant when i was listening to it, and neither does the 33 single. The Bullet with butterfly wings single has a very nice b-side, "said softly", i think it's called. The 1979 single is also brilliant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭PiE

Omg no. The "Tonight Tonight" single has some of the Pumpkins best songs ever! (The 7-track version).

"Medellia of the Gray Skies" anyone?!

Want to give me a loan of it perhaps? smile.gif

And a quick correction, i called the BWBW b-side "Said softly" in a previous post.. It's actually called "said sadly". I always make the mistake....
