you can try the 2004 site first

http://www.warpcon.com/

To my knowledge they havent actually updated the site for 2005 yet. but you can find all the contact details Email addresses and accomidation you need there.

Or (at the risk of getting pelted with over riped melons) you can try
http://www.diddlysquat.ie/
for updates the site has a list of cons for the whole of next year

I'm goign to put up details in a bit, as soon as my flatmate (who's running it) comes home.

Normally I get some info up earlier in the year, sorry guys!

• Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭Specky

Yes, pleeeaaaase put up some info. Diddlysquat have got a bunch of special events we're planning for Warpcon the details of which we'll be announcing soon (actually I gave a brief outline of what we'll be doing yesterday on the website

You know, in all seriousness, everyone really ought to visit Diddlysquat at least once a day. I've been reliably informed that doing so can actually reduce cholesterol in seven out of ten people. We're not sure what happened to the other three but I'm sure it wasn't anything too bad....

I'll post up info when I've a chance. I can assure everyone that the con is all happy and fine and there are no problems, except for the rather disturbing lack of an update on the website! That's being fixed asap afaik.

I suspect I shall eventually drink enough to see anything invisible. As well as several things that just aren't there.

pff any good D&D player knows all you need to detect invisible creatures ia small bag of flour taken from the groups cooking supplies and strewn about the place.
The falling particles will show any movent and after they have fallen any disturbance or tracks can been seen on the flour coated floor. Simple :D

Yeeeeeees...

But what if you only have alcohol? :)

• Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

well your not really going to use the alcohol unles you real realy need to right?
try ripping up beer mat into tiny tiny teensy peices and using instead of the flour.

IF you really only have alcohol best it be something flamible and create a ring of fire,
or a great ring of wetness and hope it slips on it's invisible ass or watches for splashes in the puddles.

or get hamered close your eyes and listen
you will either hear it and kill it or you will never see it coming for you and die
quietly.

Tsk. Everyone knows that if you drink enough alcohol, you can see things that aren't there...

• Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭Specky

does this imply that if you don't drink enough alcohol you can't see things that are there?? Not sure if I want to find out...

More Galwegians than I knew we had are signed up and ready to go. Mmm, fun.

I'll happily meet all the boardsie types for a drink. Or possibly a game together. Who knows?

I'm never to be found without my trusty camera at a con, snapping little...snaps to post on the Diddlysquat gallery page. Stand in the way of me and you could end up imortalised...but only as a still image, I can't make you actually live forever with my camera...

It can't be an Epic camera then. You'll need a few million more gold pieces.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,644 ✭✭✭✭nesf

Start of Day Two: "Oh God why did I drink that much last night?"
"I don't feel human give me a half hour or so"
"It's Warpcon, of course I'm hungover!!"

• Closed Accounts Posts: 31,967 ✭✭✭✭Sarky

I am recording the events of the whole weekend in haiku form.

I also met Nesf, Thaed, and Specky. Nesf is currently handing my ass to me on a plate in Dawn Of War.

I'm having fun...

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,644 ✭✭✭✭nesf

I should be asleep....

I've the joy of simultainously GM'ing and running my little trolls (staff) around tommorrow for 3 hours, followed by 3 hours of moving the trader's stuff.

:) Having fun though, Club Warpcon was alot of fun, if seeming short!

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,644 ✭✭✭✭nesf

The con is over, I can sleep now :)

• Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

Through darkness we travelled to get there and through the darkness we returned.
It was almost like this place to which we traveled could only be reached this way.
Upon arrving at the place we were to live for the next 48 hours,
we found we were surrounded by many others of our kind.

lol
Sorry just cant continue I'm sitting here giggling.
I had a wonderful weekend, only pain in the arse being the pedestrian enterances closing and not knowing about it and the long fecking walk arround the college.

The venue was great and most things were well run but I can only talk about the rpg games.

I had a wonderful time in the one game Played and the several games I ran.
Thanks to everyone that ended up at a table with me , there were times I was sore laughing.
I will most defiantly do my utmost to be there next year.

It turns out I met Al][en as well, but only after Boardsie fell tit over arse. Nice folks, all of you.

Behold, Warpcon in haiku form!

Fine, so some of them aren't real haikus. OK, most of them aren't. But you'd be amazed how boring the bus home is when you can't get to sleep because Tank Girl is playing on a really dodgy telly and won't let you sleep... Most of them are joint written by myself and a fellow called Bryan, except for one or two cases dealt with later.

Like winter's gloom,
Pot Noodle's not for eating,
Ages in the loo.

Life of a sandbag,
Damp and gunshot absorbant.
Can I be one too?

Turned volume up full!
Sorrow for lack of talent.
Tolerant busman.

Sometimes murder's good;
If I hear one more cover,
Hitler's second Spring!

Beamish Red awaits,
Alcohol is own reward.
Quick as Spring, to pub!

Wet floors stink of pee,
The dryer blows wint'ry cold air.
Porcelain horror.

As the sparrow flies,
Yet it craps upon my head,
Vine held coconnut.

Winter sun blinds me!
Must I gouge my eyes out?
Or someone else's?

Dwelling of red brick,
Holding Autumn-gold treasures,
And perhaps a duck.

Finally in Cork!
The horror, Jim, the horror,
It'd melt your face.

Much innuendo!
"Will game for food", says her shirt.
Fozzle strikes again.

No Beamish Red here!
My Murphy's is gone so flat,
I fear I may weep. :( *

French hostel man,
Where is the Beamish Red, huh?
"Je ne sais pas rien!"

When's the table quiz?
What the hell is the delay?
That shower o' bastards...

Why did I come here?
I could be playing Four Swords.
Oh yeah, It's Warpcon! **

Fifteen minutes late,
The table quiz still absent.
Blood may just be spilled.

What is our team name?
I had a good suggestion,
But I forgot it.

George Lucas at work?
Dopplegangers posing in bar!
Attack of Brian's clones.

It's a half-ork life:
Hilarious D&D,
With Storm Giant toddlers.

Meet John Kovalic,
A very, very nice man.
He signed our card games.

Such embarrassment.
"Keep back, she's got manflesh! Oops..."
Again, poor Fozzle.

Edel, Mac and Mike,
Appearing in the old bar!
Alas, we are shunned... :(

Meeting many people,
Some are nice, others moreso.
"Come to Itzacon!"

Spectres: Ancient Hordes!
A nice game by Diddlysquat.
GM amused by me.

Crust, gold as Autumn,
Wondrous treats await inside,
Glorious toastie.

I won some prizes!
As did much of Galway crew.
We cleaned up again. :)
