Moving from Virgin Business to Eir

Couldn't find a definitive answer to this, but hoping someone would know…

I currently have Virgin Cable broadband, the modem is in bridge mode and connected directly into a pfSense firewall whose WAN config is set to my static IP address.

If I move to Eir FTTH, they install a powered ONT box linking the fibre to ethernet, the typical installation also has their modem/router box with the ONT ethernet wired into its WAN port. Can I simply cable the ONT's Ethernet into the WAN port of my pfSense box and be up and running, or is there more to it? ( Eir do charge a one time fee of €50 for a static IP )
