    hi all,

As the title suggests I’ve a heating controller box in the hall that is no longer displaying anything on the screen.
The boiler and thermostats are all on and have power.
I’ve taken the controller box off the wall and confirmed there is 230v on the terminals.
There is what I think is a battery (see photo) and I wonder if I replace that will it solve the issue.
The controller box is only 1+1/2 years old.
    It’s a 3 channel cTc controller.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated

Battery is unlikely to fix it, as that is just for the Real Time Clock. More than likely something in the power supply has failed or the MCU/Clock. It would be dangerous for someone without the right skills / equipment to test/debug this with power applied. So unless you have a way of testing components and can see an obviously failed component, it would be best to reaplace it.

Replacement clocks are quite cheap, not worth repairing one. While you at it update to a HIVE etc.

Yeah so I have it back working anyway we’ll see how long it lasts.

The unit seemed to “trip” out (the screen went blank) when I had the downstairs circuit on, but also turned the upstairs circuit on.

It’s now working grand for the downstairs on its own, upstairs in its own and water on its own.

I haven’t tried both up and down circuits together again yet.
