I was a big fan of Parra, but Rupeni Caucaunibuca was one of the all time favourite players. It's like as though someone plucked a guy with a standard loose head prop's build but made him the fastest player on the pitch with an amazing swerve and step. He was fun to watch.

100% also one of my most favourite players.

He could glide around the pitch and had a turn of pace which was almost inhuman.

Caucaunibuca played on THAT Auckland team with Doug Howlett. Who would join Munster and play with Wallace. Another of that Blues team - Sam Tuitupou would also join Munster.

They were all coached of course by Joe Schmidt. Who went on to coach Parra at Clermont. Schmidt had been christened "Mr Rugby" by that stage by another Auckland player - Isa Nacewa.

Point of order, Howlett and Rupeni played for Blues not Auckland. Rupeni actually played for Northland and scorched Howlett for the match winner in their first win at Eden Park in a million years. Or something like that.

I think former Munster man Tipoki also played on that same Blues team. When he wasn't suspended.

And I must add, Rupeni WOW!!!!

As a North Harbour fan and a Blues fan, I can't accept the Blues being referred to as Auckland. That would be like calling Leinster, Dublin or Munster, Limerick.
