Generator Recommendations

    Hi All,

A few months ago, I got solar installed and asked them to set it up in a way that I could get a generator for backup. They set it up with an outlet outside my back door and a long cable that can run to my shed when needed. I have been trying to figure out what to go for. From my limited understanding, I think I should go for something capable of sustained 6kva and max 8kva for handling surges. Preferably with a 25-30L tank. It seems like Diesel is the preferred option for efficiency but I am not married to it if that is up for debate.

Average consumption for the household, appears to be 14.6kWh a day. Average peak load is 3.96kWh. Absolute peak in a 16 day period was 4.98kWh.

I would love some recommendations on generators. If you think my assumptions like 9kva, 25L tank, electric start and Diesel are sound. One of my biggest concerns is noise level. I don't want to annoy the neighbours too much. I understand there will always be some noise but don't want it too be obnoxiously loud if it can be avoided. What makes and models do you recommend and do you have any shops/retailers you suggest?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
