EC tuner – Accuracy and Load Suggestions

I’m shooting a Sako S20 Hunter in .308 with Hornady Superformance 165gr SST. My current average best group is around 0.5 MOA.

Has anyone tested other factory loads that offer better consistency or lower SD/ES?
Also wondering if a barrel EC tuner can realistically tighten the group further.

Looking for recommendations in the 150–168 gr range.

How are you going to get better consistency if your average group size is .5 moa...Id say buy as much of that ammo as you legally can..👍

I saw Youtube videos claiming the EC Tuner Brake can achieve 0.1–0.2 MOA groups, but they appear promotional.

Has anyone independently tested its effectiveness, and would it work in my case?

Are these two shot groups? I'd say you need to get a proper baseline to start with. See below graph, I asked chat gpt to generate it however given what I understand especially around the 5 shot group figure of 30% margin of error I'm happy enough with it being representative.

So for example lets say one shoots a five shot 1 inch group, sticks a tuner on and shoots a .8 inch group. It cannot be ascertained from the data that there has actually been an improvement as there is too much crossover in margin of error.

Will a tuner work? Maybe, there's 101 variables in the whole thing. I played with one on a 22LR and burned through a lot of R50 trying to see if there was anything in it. I can't say that there was but then all the top benchrest shooters use them so there must be?

First they came for the socialists...

    100% agree.

Bare minimum 5 shot groups, and preferably 10.

2 and 3 shot groups cannot express the precision of a firearm adequately, 5/10+ provides way more data and as Feisar said reduces the margin of error.

Never forget, the end goal is zero firearms of any type.
