it’s the labelling of anybody with opinions that don’t align with the governments agenda on immigration as being corrupted by disinformation or being left, right or whatever it is, racist, Is whats pis*ing people off .
45 year old male here , I don’t have social media accounts or watch any of it, I read the weeks news once a week all at once.

It’s a disgrace that the government of this country allows people in here with the ability to do what happened and also the other week too. It’s also a disgrace that anybody who has had enough of it will be labelled some sort of racist , leftist , rightist, racist who being corrupted by social media or the select few.
Majority of people aren’t happy but the majority don’t do anything about it.

The government are failing the decent people of this country in many aspects , how they are failing the people of this country on their immigration policies is the top of the list IMO.

I think its a disgrace that the standars rent-a-mob/citizen journalists dregs are making it all about immigrants. Its far more concerning how in recent years TUSLA has completely lost two now dead children (Durnin and Arebose), now had another child stabbed to death (Davydenko) and now let a 10 year old wander off to get raped.

I used to wonder how instiutions like the mother and baby homes got away with it but I'm starting to understand it now. Theres always a more important agenda to keep any heat off the institutions.

Paul Reynolds has crawled out from underneath his rock to report on Official Irelands response to last night....

Absolutely no mention of what brought out the protestors in the first place....

I smell bullshit. If true what we're eldery people doing at the front of a violent protest? Only asking for trouble.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,892 ✭✭✭cmac2009

It can be about both issues. Ultimately the responsibility rests with the government for TUSLA and immigration problems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,729 ✭✭✭Yellow_Fern

I dont feel that is true. I saw the whole thing unravel. There was some bad eggs. Like the person who burnt out the bike and who hurled stones at the gardai, I dont think such an inclination to this criminality necessarily extends to the level of assault.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,729 ✭✭✭Yellow_Fern

I doubt the gardai did any thing to eldery but there was plenty of older middle aged people and familes in attending.

The issue is racism. It's been shown over and over again. The scum that were out last night are only pretending to care about women's safety. If a white man rapes a woman, you won't hear a word from them unless it's to say that she was responsible. I can name one thankfully banned poster who did this a lot.

I've seen crowds like this attempt pogroms here in the UK so yes, they'd have killed people. You and others can defend these sorts of incidents all you want but that's what it is. Don't pretend otherwise.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Is this some kind of stuff the President should be discouraging?

I haven't heard a word from MDH…… but maybe this is not in his remit?

I mean it was always going to come to this and more will join the next protest once the next incident happens.

This is not just people of Dublin, I saw someone I went to school with on Facebook posting that anyone who doesn't drive that he will bring them up.

The government and do gooders who insulted normal people for years are as much responsible for last night as the scumbags using this as an excuse for violence.

The same people cheered on the George Floyd protests but are in horror of last night, a bunch of hypocrites.

It is the ordinary day citizen who puts there head down, goes to work, pays taxes and can be critical of left and right wing fanatics, doesn't protest and has nobody fighting for them that are suffering without a cause.

This will just be glossed over, the government and do gooders will ignore all these problems, more normal people will be recruited by the far right and protests are going to get more violent and grow bigger.

The biggest reason these people are protesting is a lot of them are scumbags looking for violence, do gooders spread government misinformation and insult normal citizens who are at breaking point.

We need to stop enabling these lunatics and get a government that will implement sensible policies that benefit the country.

The likes of last night was preventable and it is a sad day for the country.

Shame on the people who caused violence acts.

Let's not lie, have you not seen the video of 25/35 people hurling stuff at gardai?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,005 ✭✭✭Feisar

Dad was in the Gardaí. He said at the H Block riots when they baton charged everything in front of them got timber.

First they came for the socialists...

What do you think about illegal Irish immigrants in the USA?

There is a system for refugees, as bad as it is and the government has to somehow deal with it

its far from perfect but what is the alternative

Amazing how some very thin skinned people can be so easily embarrassed on behalf of the nation. Luckily for other countries their residents are a smidge more resilient

Did you read my post FFS.

If you think I stand with anything those people did or represent last night you either can't read or have misread it.

I note you're a moderator on this site which makes your response more alarming.

I await your retraction and apology.

If they are illegal and the US government want to deport them then they should be sent back home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,174 ✭✭✭ledwithhedwith

They deployed it but didnt need to use it, I reckon the thoughts of their Canada Goose getting soaked made them come to their senses. Back home to beat the missus after , article from a similar riot- https://m.independent.ie/irish-news/crime/almost-half-of-belfast-race-rioters-had-been-reported-for-domestic-abuse/a957470747.html

Thats fair enough and i know a member of the public order unit who would say the same but what are eldery people or a person in a wheelchair doing up the front with all those thugs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,169 ✭✭✭TokTik

Perhaps check Ezra’s own page. He was attacked by the Gardai, as was Dougie Beatty, whose assault was caught on camera.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,717 ✭✭✭✭Galwayguy35

But the government aren't dealing with it when people who should be gone from the country are still here.

It proves the system is broken and the government are lying to us.

Unfortunately the violence now takes the focus off the government's failure when it comes to immigration.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭AyeGer

This is a disgraceful take, labelling anyone at last nights protest as scum. There were plenty of decent people there last night who did not get involved in the violence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,339 ✭✭✭DayInTheBog

I can't understand why this government is allowing asylum seekers who commit crimes to remain here. I see it on a daily basis asylum seekers and foreign nationals in general in and out of prison, not working and just claiming benefits .they're of no value to us.

Time to follow Germanys lead and deport them.

Exactly. Where was the angry mob when yer man nearly murdered his girlfriend in broad daylight in the middle of Firhouse last year? Or when any other number of Irish men raped, killed or violently assaulted their wives, girlfriends and exes???

These people aren't patriots, or concerned about the safety of Irish women and children, they're racist thugs with an excuse. And a fair amount of sexual and domestic violence convictions to their own names.
