Weedlicker how to use

First time using a wedlicker.

To turn on pump is the light and I have a valve to turn off the flow of water.

If I leave it on my tank would be gone within a minute. So should I leave pump and valve open for a few seconds, wet the carpet and then turn off.

Sorry probably seems trivial but hard to work both switches at once so seeing what other people do.

mine has a button you press every so often to wet the carpet as your driving.

Your on the right track. Plug in to the lights and leave lights on when using. Usually it's a hand held push button from the light connection that you push to wet the carpet and then top up. I would push the button for a few seconds every 40metres. If you were going into a heavy rush area I would put a little extra on the carpet. You will learn as you go. A bit of washing up liquid in the mixture (0.5/1ltr to 20ltr water roundup or equivalent ) will help it stick to the rush.

I have not done it this late, usually a summer job. The week is dry, maybe others could give a few comments on their experience of weedlicking this time of year.

I'd say if the rushes are soft and green after being topped earlier in the year, it would be worth doing them now….

A few years back I did a field of heavy old rushes at this time of year.

For months after the father was saying it did nothing.

The Following year it turned out the kill was very good.

Temps during the day are still quite warm

Licked a few during the week and usually would give them a run this time of the year if the weather is suitable. You will not see any difference until April or May but it will definitely set them back a lot.

Looking like today will be your last chance for the year.

I normally graze and fertilise and then hit the rushes if they are green. If they are old brown rushes I will top first and wait for regrowth. I work mainly off ground conditions here, not off the time of year.
