Had a Hkc alarm installed approx 1.5 years ago.

I am getting a message zone 2 upstairs open even though all windows are closed.

Only noticing now that when you alarm with inhibits none of the windows upstairs are armed..

    Any suggestions to fix.

Also it possible to rename zones so that all of upstairs isn't on the one zone?

Have ennginers code to access system

More than likely a faulty device on that zone which is why the zone is showing open.

The cable going to that zone is more than likely a loop, meaning all the devices are using the same cable for that zone.

Sometimes you would have 2 cables, one front, one back but depends on how it was cabled.

Yes, if you inhibit a zone, you effectively turn off all the sensors wired into that zone in that arm of the system.

One option is to try break up the zone using the cable or install point ID sensors on that zone.

This would give an ID to each device so you can have them all on the same cable with different points and names to distinguish each device. These are different sensors than the global devices used normally.
