Help with curtain sizes

I'm looking to get some curtains and and am confused by the sizes.

Taking this size as an example = W168cm x 183cm drop, I get the drop, that's the height of the curtain.

What I don't get the width. Curtains come in pairs, so is the width for each "half" of the pair, or for the two combined?

I was looking in the shop and it did not specify the above, nor did I get any confidence that the staff could answer correctly, so I left empty handed.

In other words, if my window was 2 meters wide would these be too small?

And I assume the width is with the curtain laid flat, and, when on the pole you would get a bit less due to the zig zaging at the pole, or does this take that into account?
