Luas + Bus to The Point

Anyone been to The Point since the fire? Is it a nightmare getting there and back?

I usually park at the Red Cow and Luas in. The queue for the Luas on the way back can be long but it is generally well managed and moves. What's it like now with buses?

Would I be better off driving closer and parking somewhere and forgetting the Luas/Bus?

If it was me, I'd still get the Luas to Connolly and just walk the rest. 15- 20 minutes.

Much handier than faffing around with buses.

Was trying to judge the walk. 15-20 mins is manageable!

Ya. It's only 2kms. Get off at the BusAras stop - the one before connolly.

Alternative is to get a bus to Ringsend. If you get off at the stop at garage walk along Ringsend Road, over the bridge into the village then walk down Thorncastle st and over the East Link Bridge. It's a bit shorter (1.6km) . Trying to coss at the roundabout can be a bit of a pain but there is a crossing if you go up the keys towards town.

There's busses put on by Luas from outside Connolly up the quays. Not sure how busy.

For anyone interested: We got off the Luas at Busáras and went to cross the road. There was an empty shuttle bus waiting at Connolly. We hopped on and got dropped outside The Point.

On the way back there was a queue for the Shuttle bus. But it was fairly civilised! We didn't get the first bus that came, but got on the second. Probably only waiting about 10mins. Dropped off at Connolly where a Luas was waiting.

All in all, left The Point about 10:30 and pulled out of the Red Cow Carpark about 11:40.

Not bad at all. Out of curiousity, did you leave early, or wait until the end. Going to Patti Smith there soon, and won't be leaving it early.

Stayed until the very end. Even sat waiting in the seats for a while to let the majority out ahead of us. No point standing on the stairs for 5-10 mins not moving!
