All extremely juvenile stuff and I can't believe it all escalated that quickly.

Find out of that summons is correct from the gardaì, I imagine they would have been in discussion with you first about complaints and summons dont just arrive

At any point during all of this absolute nonsense did you attempt to just have a word with your brother like a pair of functioning adults???

I'm going to take that as a "No", so. Utterly bizarre behaviour from everyone involved.

Why would your SiL make such a threat just because you walked through their fields? I have a feeling there's waaaaay more to this entire scenario than you're divulging, tbh.

Edit: I've just had a look at your post history, OP, and it's clear there's a very long and strong history of dysfunction in your family. I don't really know what advice to give you, tbh, there's a whole bunch of you in it, clearly.

There was nothing offensive in those replies. I was going to post the same thing. Why anybody wouldn't talk to their brother directly about it is bizarre. The behaviour on both sides is immature, to put it mildly. The whole scenario smacks of something deeper going on. And then the thread from 4 years ago throws some light on it. One side's as off the wall as the other. Irrational behaviour rarely achieves anything.

If you have a dispute, talk to a solicitor. The summons probably warrants a solicitor anyway. At the very least they may seek a barring/protection order against you.

That's a shock and the thing to do is try to work out what has been alleged and prepare to defend yourself in that. you should probably try to talk to a solicitor. im not sure if you can't afford one is your best option to contact flac free legal aid centre. Is there anyone who can act as a mediator between you and your brothers family ? other family or a trusted friend ?

Absolutely nothing I said to you was offensive, unlike the PM you also felt the need to send me. All of which really just confirms that the advice I already gave you - to grow up, basically - is valid.

    Have a nice Sunday.

Sounds to me like you have been notified of a preliminary hearing for a section 28 restraining order. What exactly does it say on the letter you got in the post? Excluding names etc., obviously.
