Thanks for all of the advice, looks like I would get hammered alright. Am I being unrealistic to think I would get €40k by way of value on my car if I was trading it in.

Looks like to change it is going to require a significant cash payment which may make it unfeasible. I suppose it was something I was considering but it may not be feasible or make any sense.

I haven’t spoken to any dealers yet.

they look to be asking for 42/43k for them, dont be surprised if a trade offer is 10k less than that.

On the flipside, my dad traded in an ev6 251 against a sportage 252 this week and the ev6 appeared on donedeal for only 3k more than trade in value....so you'll only know when you ask a dealer

You might get a small cost to change on a cheaper 241 VW like a Tiguan or something but they're not going to be delighted about taking another id7 into stock

Trade in prices can be artificially inflated to make the deal look more attractive so don't pay too much attention to them. The only figure that matters is the cost to change figure.

PCP rollover can distort how much it's costing you too as the focus tends to be on the headline monthly figures and low interest rate.
