Importing Pistol with 2 Barrels

    Good afternoon,

I have my license and import cert for a pistol, however as it comes with 2 barrels the handler wants the cert to show the second barrel on the cert.

However the issue is they are not a serialized part. Import dept has said they can modify the certificate however will need the barrel s/n which doesn't make sense as no barrel on a pistol i have seen has one. The s/n is on the receiver/action.

    Anyone have experience with this?

Are they both same calibre eg .22lr?

Seen barrels with serial no.'s on them eg Sako Quad

If you can do the job, do it. If you can't do the job, just teach it. If you really suck at it, just become a union executive or politician.

I take it's coming from outside the EU?

If it is part 4 of the post that Tonyoprano posted is that simply it [the barrells] must be engraved with the reciver number once it enters the EU"without delay"[Whatever that means legally is up to debate] However it seems there is no mention of who must do this,so you could engrave them yourself,so long as its in at 0.04 mm.In this case simply put down the reciver serial number for the spare barrel and get it engraved once you get it into ireland. Small Arms Service in Cork do a good job with a lazer engraver.

if it is a sale within the EU,it will be up to the seller to get both barrels sorted out with the serial numbers before putting them on the market. So refer back to them in that case.As it would be much easier for them to do this.

    Cheers lads,

its coming from Germany, dealer has handed it over to the exporter/also a gun dealer so I will ask them to put the s/n on the barrel.
