    Hi all,

I repurposed an old Win 10 Gaming PC to a Plex Server a good few years ago and it's been very reliable serving +/- 20 friends and family users, see spec below.

With Win 10 coming to an end (I know I can probably hack an upgrade to Win 11), the fact the machine is goes through periods where the fan is at full blast even though no one is using it or streaming on Plex and the fact it takes up a lot of space in an area we want to re-purpose I'm thinking of retiring the PC, buying a Synology DS224+ 2 Bay NAS for circa €390 and moving my 7TB HDD which contains my content from the PC into the NAS.

The use case has declined over the years so I know really only need to support 5-6 family members scatterd around the country and overseas hence I'd like a fairly low maintenance / low energy consumption but robust solution which I can more or less set and forget as I no longer need any other functionality the PC gave me in the past other than a Plex Server.

    Thoughts?

I'm a bit confused by the product descrition on Amazon.ie as I assume the NAS doesn't come with a 4TB HDD installed?
