For all the sublime moments that we have from radio such as Radio Nova on May 19th, The Sunshine Closedown, Q102's Audio, DLT and The Baton incident, jingle rally's and Carolines Bell to the sillier bits like Lois on the midnight news, The Goon Show or Paul Claffey's live concerts from Ballyhaunis, there are times when the scruples and standards of the hero's of Radio have given way and let some downright awful stuff go out on air, be it planned or with an accidentally opened mic or enforced listening to Joe Duffy or Harbour Hotel reruns on RTÉ Extra.

    Any favourites to share?

For me, the ultimate car crash radio moment was Tullamore toms " gowda hell " dismissal of an unhappy customer on live line. And that never was resolved.

RTE radio 1 has many derogative nicknames throughout this forum frankly 95% apt.

To me the "worst of radio" is more about content rather than other things.

Once it's past 9 am both BBC Radio 4 as well as RTE 1 love to speak endlessly about cancer and the impact of cancer treatment in various shows.

Every time it's about cancer, I change the station, - unless it's maybe about a new discovery / medication and the information is straight and clear.
