I am digging out an area at the side of the house and knocking a side wall to put down a concrete base. There will probably be about 3 or 4 skips bags of waste material. Has anyone any experience with companies who can arrive with the lorry and use the grabber to load material, and how much the service cost compared to typical skip hire costs? I would prefer it, as it would allow me to pile it up to one side and not have a skip sitting on my driveway.

    Thanks in advance.

As you say, a grab lorry will collect it and take it away. There needs to be access for the truck to get reasonably close to the rubble.

Grab truck is approx €350 and can take 20-25 tons, you can also get them to bring 804 if required at an additional cost. These will take soil/rubble only. You will need an area with good access, no over-head cables and not too near any walls, for the material to be stored.

Large builders skip (6 yards) is €325, but if you have other waste such as fencing / timber this can also go into this skip. If using a skip, i would bring half of the material to the front before the skip arrives and then bring the rest out when the skip is there, as you will probably only have 3 days.
