It does look like it went into the wrong "system". It's a DHL Express Worldwide label, should have been collected from An Post by DHL and then delivered next working day.

Looks like it's going down the DHL Parcel Europe route

Wow fantastic thanks so much feel more optimistic less stressed now 🙂

DHL have no share of An Post.

DHL are part of Deutsch post. They will have local agreements in various countries for "last mile" delivery/collection. An Post is one of them as its a national post service like Deutsch Post (Fastway is another for larger parcels)

In the UK, they recently bought EVRI, but they would not be used for this.

The Aug 31st tracking is almost certainly the dispatch to UK after paperwork has cleared, so hopefully delivered in the next day or so.

I think people ( including the lad in An Post) are getting confused about the two different partnerships An Post have with DHL.

An Post is part of the DHL Parcel Europe program. This is where you get a TP tracking number and An Post sends it over to Deutsche Post.

An Post is also a DHL Service Point where you drop off DHL Courier parcels and DHL collect them from the post office themselves. You'll often see the DHL barcode on the Post Office Window. This is what should have happened this time. It's also how An Post International Courier works

I know that. It should have gone DHL courier if it was dropped into the post office. It went into the mail center or DSU so ended up going the parcel route as the DHL waybill can't be scanned in, only the JJ number hence the new TP number.

    It's on the way anyway.

Lesson learned haha always get a receipt.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's still sitting in Portlaoise and will eventually be handed over to DHL

Iit is sitting in Portlaoise almost a week now.

Does anyone know the best way to get it moved on?

So much for next day delivery to UK :(

Have you heard back from the guy in An Post yet?

Basically they need to get it to DHL - DHL will have access to all the customers details for clearance, An Post wont

The An Post guy in Athlone emailed me earlier today just quoting what I already know I'm monitoring it on the an Post app.

I've asked him can we contact Portlaoise to try get it moved on as it's labelled on the system as "sorting" for almost a week now.

There was finally a change on the an Post tracker status early this evening. It now states it's out for delivery.

So it was 7 daysin an post Athlone and another 7 days in An Post Portlaoise. Hoping it's finally on route to the UK now fingers crossed.

So much for 24 hrs delivery to UK, main thing we located it thanks to Boardsies :)

I just saw this and I'm glad you got it sorted. It's things like this that make boards so special. I can't count the number of random things like this I've had help with over the years.

It will be a terrible loss if we can't stop boards from shutting down. 😕

If it takes any longer, the battery will have run out. :D

Glad it's looking like it's sorted.

    Update!

    Still stuck in Portlaoise!

    Unbelievable tomorrow is three weeks!

I emailed the an post guy in Athlone yesterday and he's still confident it will move on soon. He's blaming a sorting machine breakdown at Portlaoise caused a massive tailback in parcels and extra staff was brought in to help.

C Ward have stopped communicating with me they must think I'm.a spammer cancer at this stage.

Oh that's awful! I thought you said it was out for delivery on the 5th.

I know An Post are having problems so hopefully the guy is right and it will move soon.

It was out for delivery on 5th but it only went from the An Post Athlone depot to their Portlaoise depot and is there ever since

Total of 3 weeks now not good enough

I'd say it's just going to get the same scans every week or so until someone takes it out of the An Post system and gets it to DHL.

Even if it goes to Royal Mail / Parcel Force in the UK it would likely be returned due to lack of customs docs.

If it was me, I'd probably ask An Post to do a Return To Sender on it, then resend it via a post office with DHL

This matter is still not resolved!

Christopher Ward the UK watch company said yesterday via email they still haven't received the returned watch. It will be 4 weeks this Friday since I dropped it off to An Post Athlone.

I paid with PayPal and I opened an application for a refund last Friday.

Im awake all night very stressed over this.

Yesterday the An Post chap at Athlone sent me an email clearly declairing that he'd taken possession of it from myself and he attached a spreadsheet showing the watches movements. He said it doesn't show up on the system for DHL only An Post.

Yes was finally resolved last week!

It turned up out of the blue at its destination in the UK and within 48 hrs I was issued my full refund.

A huge thanks to everyone here on this chat especially to user060916
