Hi everyone, I'm seeking advice on travelling from Portlaoise.
Getting there isn't a problem. Going from Clonmel.
I have two options for my journey home.
1- Take a train to Dublin, and then take a bus from Dublin to home.
2-Take a train to Thurles and get a taxi for the rest of the way.
Are there any other alternatives or different ways? I would be leaving around 8 or so.

8 in the morning or evening?

theres the TFI link bus from Portlaoise to Cashel, and then wait for the cashel to Cahir bus. Shorter taxi (or get picked up!) then back to clonmel.

works for 8 in the morning, but not 8 in the eveing i dont think.

there may even be a bus between cashel and clonmel? im not sure

    Thanks for your reply

It's in the evening at 8 pm…if there are options for a shorter way home

I wonder if you got the train to Kilkenny (will need to change at Kildare). Then change for the JJ Kavanagh bus to clonmel - it stops close to Kilkenny railway station now.
