Got in Joao Pedro over the weekend, had a bit of cash. My punt on double West ham strikers is not looking good, and JP looked central to everything Chelsea are doing

It's wait and see for me. Littered with injuries. Palmer, Saka and Ait-Nouri. Saka reported to be out for 3-4 weeks. Need to wait on Palmer news. Will likely take the opportunity to upgrade Guiu. Don't particularly want to take a hit nor play the WC. Have 2 FTs.

He’s a player that could badly hurt me this season because I’ll probably refuse to own him. His minutes aren’t guaranteed and I feel like he got a lot of small injuries at Brighton or missed minutes through suspensions. My memory is poor though.

It’s unlikely Palmer will miss this weekend. He’s been carrying the problem and played with it in opening GW. Trained all week.

Wirtz is the big sell. Has been anonymous in both games so far. A very easy sell. Could be time to sell him for a 5.5m and upgrade Guiu so one can play 343 and have good rotation options.

With Wirtz dropping and having Palmer & Saka i pulled the trigger on the WC

That’s a mad squad. To be expected.

You looking at playing 433 most weeks ? Surely you can’t be benching premium defenders at 5.5m and above ?

Bobb is a mad pick. I’d rather have KDH or Sarr at 0.5m cheaper. At least minutes are more guaranteed for when they are needed.

I wouldn’t be benching Gyokeres at Anfield.

It may have been rash pulling the trigger but theres no going back now

I like Saka and Palmer but both are injured

I don't like Salah, his price point is too high IMO for what I think he will deliver, has been exceptionally lucky to get any points to date. Both him and Haaland need to deliver at least a goal every game to make them worth your while picking.

When you take them four out its pretty much impossible to spend your budget, I have 4m left in that team. If I change my mind on Haaland or Salah, I'll downgrade a striker to Guiu and rotate between 4-5-1, 4-4-2 & 3-5-2.

On Bobb, if i had reijnders there I don't think you'd comment but from what I've read Bobb is the only right sided player in that squad, was nailed on to start last season, he seems the safer long term bet.

Pulled the trigger on my 2 FTs

Saka and Guiu out for Gyok and Anderson.

Still have Ait Nouri and Palmer. Will likely start Palmer and bench Wirtz. He's been a huge disappointment so far and kicking myself that I picked him over Gakpo for GW1. I've no Chris Wood for the weekend. He'll probably kill me and send my tumbling with a red arrow but so be it.

Lost 0.1 on Fullkrug so getting up to a Wood or Pedro is difficult. Don't want to sell Mateta who has Sunderland and West Ham after international break. Not many other options to free up funds if holding Haaland and Salah. 2FTs, might just roll.

Anyone in similar position, caught for money to move?

Aye, I wouldn’t have mentioned Reijnders but only because he is well owned so it offers some protection but I know you like to play fairly aggressively. I don’t really like owning any Pep players because of potential rotation but I know that applies to most managers now.

I also didn’t realise you had 4.0m in the bank with that team. I like to play aggressive myself and I have no problem with carrying money in the bank as it gives you great freedom going forward.

I could just play it safe and get Haaland for either gyokeres or ekitike, turn bobb into some fodder who never comes off the bench

Whats the thoughts on Wood? Nuno could be off before the weekend but they're playing West Ham, who i think are probably not as bad as they have looked so far

I would always encourage people to do their own thing. My comments are never to influence anyone. I like seeing different teams and approaches.

Personally I’d have Salah over Haaland but I know from GW 13 that LFC and City have amazing fixtures and I’ll own both of them until Salah heads off to AFCON and then I won’t have him for the rest of the season.

As ever I think there will be plenty of good cheap options to allow Salah and Haaland and when Salah leaves it’ll be fairly obvious (by then) what to do with the extra cash.

I didn’t answer any of your questions 😁.

I loved Woods as an option from GW 1 but I was afraid that he had competition from Awoniyi and they had bought Jesus and were about to buy Kalimuendo.

And now we have the doubts around NES who just signed a new contract in June !

I suppose the way to go is own Wood until it’s obvious what’s happening or going to happen.

I really like Gyokeres though and I’d definitely own Ekitike and worry about him after the whole Isak debacle is over.

I also thought West Ham would turn it around this season but that’s not looking great currently.

There's an international break after this GW. As tempted as I am to fire bullets at Wirtz and a few others, I'll keep the powder dry and maybe carry two FTs into the next GW

After watching the first game of the season I thought Wirtz was the easiest sell in a long time. I thought he was shockingly poor. I assume he’ll come good but I was never going to accept a price drop on him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,808 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

I just don't see Salah as value for money, he has been as poor as Wirtz in both games, very lucky to have any points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,549 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Yeah Liverpool are setup totally different for Salah versus previous years. Watching the Community Shield and Newcastle games, feels like 80% of their play comes down the left with Salah staying wide on the right. It's either

    a. to have Salah in more space when he gets it to run at a player or

    b. as a decoy

So far it's been a lot of b. Teams aren't leaving a LB 1-on-1 with Salah, he's being double teamed over there, so Liverpool seem intent on leaving him there occupying two defenders. Great for Liverpool putting Ekitike, Gakpo, Wirtz etc on the other haf of the field and having more space, not great for Salah as a fantasy football option.

I still own him but moving to Haaland is definitely being considered, especially if Isak comes in and threatens Ekitike's role

Did Bowen to Etikéte pre changes last night but £0.2m is £0.2m
