What happens to partially completed EDTs if you can't renew your licence for a third time?

I will not be able to complete my EDTs by the time my 2nd learner permit expires. That is ok I don't care about that aspect. What I do care about is, when I am in a position to learn to drive again what will be the administrative hurdles UNDER THE CURRENT RULES (not the proposed rules that haven't been made into law yet).

I understand that even if it is within 10 years of expiry I have to redo the theory so do I just apply online or is there a special process that I have to do? I know that my EDTs will not transfer so I will need to the 12 lessons again, does the driving instructor need to be informed so that the RSA can properly recorded these lessons or can they just be done as normal? Will there be any other unmentioned procedural differences?

Get on the waiting list for the driving test, it will be enough to allow you to get the third permit. You don’t need the EDT’s completed to do that.
