Does anyone remember this man?

For a long time I used to see a man around Dun Laoghaire and Blackrock and sometimes in Ranelagh. He was quite tall and walked with a bit of a stoop. He had black hair that was receding and he usually wore denim - often a denim jacket. He had a nondescript accent and spoke quite softly. I think he was a recovering alcoholic as I saw him once try to help someone who was visibly drunk and he definitely knew the language of 12 step recovery programmes. I saw him with religious tracts a few times too. I haven't seen him in a long time but I used to like seeing him around. He made the place feel safer.
