Why care if she has an outstanding tax bill now? She’s an ex, and sounds like a bad one.

It sounds like you're straddling two tax jurisdictions here so you really need specialist, local advice in both, OP.

Looks like OP has done a redact job with this thread, making it useless. Surprised boards allows editing of subject titles and old posts, as opposed to just the latest one or two...

Deleting, or rendering every one of your posts useless, in a thread you started should be a ban. Especially when replies were genuinely trying to address the issue raised.

    Agreed.

It appears that the OP had given an ex-girlfriend money as a gift and also paid her tax bill in Germany as a gift.
Now that they are separated, the OP wanted to know how to get the money back 🙄

If you read posts that quoted him then you can see what he said, they don't get updated

Mods can close and delete threads on request, I had to do this once as I gave away some personal information in a thread

This is a much fairer approach so I'd suggest the OP requests this from a mod

Well if you can delete or edit posts on social media then I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed here

The better approach is to request the thread is deleted by a mod or site admin

The OP may have felt they gave away personal information or that the posts here could be used against them and wanted to remove them while the thread is deleted

However in this case I agree it seems more like spite towards other posters

an element of a romance fraud was here. But near impossible to prove.

OP got sucked in by someone. That person got money out of the OP and possibly has moved on to a new victim.

    OP has a choice.

    1. Let it consume their life and try any angle to get "revenge" via gardai or revenue. And then find out that its unlikely to be a garda matter and revenue will be unable to do nothing either.

    2. Accept the wool was pulled over you. Accept that the money will not be returned. Learn from the errors. Move on with life.
