Would like my thread in Personal Issues reopened

    Hi Mark,

I don't believe there is any benefit to be gotten from reopening your thread. We have a policy in Personal Issues where we direct the poster to real life help once we believe the forum can't offer any more. This is done with consideration for the poster. I agree with the moderator in this instance that I think seeking help from your GP or a counsellor in your area would be better for you.

Can you explain why because I don't see it?

I don't have the money to throw at multiple counsellors under the assumption that one may eventually help. Even assuming I could get access to them for free via my GP (which I doubt), there are big delays in accessing mental health and there would be big delays between counsellors if I want to change from one.

Talking to multiple people in the thread with their multiple points of view allows me to consider my position from multiple points of view much quicker.

PI is not a substitute for mental health services. The moderators use their discretion and when we think a thread, and it's responses, has the potential to do more harm than good the decision is taken to close it and direct to real life help.

This was the decision taken in this case. We believe the issue you are having and the help you need is beyond the scope of the Personal Issues posters.

Under what basis are you making that claim though? What harm do you think could come from the thread?

The harm could be that you use the thread as a prop, a distraction to keep coming back to without actually taking any of the advice given - thus avoiding actually tackling your issues.

You have demonstrated an alarming inability to accept other people's wishes and answers in that thread. Here again you have demonstrated that you will not accept the decision of two separate moderators.

Your thread will not be reopened. You need to find supports in real life to help you address these issues that you are having and hopefully find a healthier way to deal with them.

This thread is now also locked. Please do not start another.
