Surprised no comments on thurles closing. should see something happen as HRI were taken aback by the announcement by the Molonys and so many big owners/trainers announced their disaapointment considering the quality of the ground so often in winter when racing went ahead when it likely wouldnt have elsewhere.

No surprise it’s gone. The amount of money to keep it functioning properly as a racetrack in the future would be astronomical. One of the stands was due to be condemned. HRI and the elite of Irish racing should buy it and turn it into Irelands 2nd all weather and casino and be done with it.

Disappointed. I wouldnt think it would be astronomical to get better basic facilities like many other tracks.

HRI are turning tipperary into the all weather. No reason to turn thurles into one.
