Vrt checklist

Hi

I bought a veichile in ireland on uk plates, after i bought it I paid customs and Vat

I reciveced V5 from the seller in ireland from the previous owner. However;

In order to complete the vrtvpd2 form i need

Proof of first entry into the state:

Ferry ticket:

The seller i bought it from says he doesnt have this information.

Anyone have suggestions on my next steps

You need an invoice/receipt for the VRT appointment, so if you make a hand written receipt with the sellers address as Northern Ireland you don’t need a ferry ticket

Yeh.. This might be why you aren't allowed buy a UK reg car in Ireland as an Irish resident. Well the inverse, an Irish dealer isn't allowed to sell you a UK reg car. They have to vrt it, to sell it to you.

Or was it a private purchase?

Either way it's kind of bogey.. But as the above says, all you can do is make it up

If you didn’t have a ferry ticket they used to use the last day the tax expired in the UK as the date the car entered Ireland but I don’t think they still allow this

Hi,

I have recently cleared customs and payed VAT and am now trying to vrt a vintage 400cc motorcycle (34 years old)

The veichile is a non runner on UK plates and hasn't been runing since 8/12/2015 it was imported by a van from NI 07 December 2015 the last date of MOT.

I plan on bringing it to the mechanic as soon as it is vrt'd, however;

I have a few questions in regards to this bike

● Is it to late to VRT(bought it on the 7th of JAN Y 2025)

●If so Is the VRT chargeable for late registration,

●What documents are needed to VRT this bike

●The bikes engine has been replaced and the engine number is NOT known on the V5C is this okay that this cant be filled in for the irish logbook
