Ya, but it's an old Volvo.

I'm not that concerned with a badge or anything like that. Just wondering specifically about that Skoda and if anyone has opinions on it as a standalone car?

I think rear space is important.

If your doing 30k or 40k km per year then you need to think a bit more about comfort. It will still be some downgrade in comfort from your current Volvo to a Fabia. I wouldn't fancy doing that mileage in a 1.0 Fabia.

Yes but it's still a volvo . A superb would more in same league as volvo . I am not talking about snobbery . As said my friend has noticed big differences in octavia and superb its just superb had got too pricey to buy

Go sit in the Fabia and take it for a drive.

Yeah we had a 1 litre fabia estate as a hire car 2 years ago. Pretty brutal to drive and not much space at all, it's based on the same platform as the Polo so it's that kind of size

What has been done on the car that has cost a grand multiple times ?

I would find 143k miles very low for the year tbh..

You might find you have fixed all the problems with the car only to buy another one that is going to have all the same problems

You might go up the years but might find it hard to get the mileage down . Lads buy diesels to do big mileage. Low mileage ones are there but aren't very common unless you go A few years old.

Regarding car comfort. The fabias would be well back from your volvo' let alone a superb.

Best advice is to go to a skoda dealer and take both on a test drive. And see for yourself. They reckon the superb is like a tardis, massive space and comfort inside

I wouldn't dream of getting a Fabia if you're doing that mileage. I would be leaning towards getting the flywheel done on the Volvo. With the money you've spent all the big jobs must be done now.

Just one thing you're not using a main dealer for the work are you ?
