    Hi, can anyone advise…

I brought my car to the mechanic for a full service 3 months ago.
had my NCT last week and it failed due to “insufficient contact between brake pad and disc” Is this something the mechanic should have picked up on. Don’t they check the brake pads during a service? The NCT tester explained to me that the metal around the brake is corroded. Nothing has been said to me by the mechanic and the car has been in several times. Should I be concerned they never told me this after the service?
